Next year, Emerald Waterways is debuting three new ships (for a total of seven), new combination itineraries, and a program of active excursions. Among the new ships set to launch in 2017 is the Emerald Destiny, Emerald Waterways’ fifth Star-Ship to sail the Rhine, Main and Danube; the 112-passenger Emerald Radiance, featuring Riverview Suites, a new cabin category; and the 138-passenger Emerald Liberte, launching in April. While smaller in size than other Star-Ships, Emerald Liberte will offer all the same amenities, including a pool and a cinema, plus enhanced Emerald Active programming and an onboard cooking demonstration by an award-winning chef.

Additionally, Emerald Waterways is now offering new, combinable itineraries. Guests can now combine two 7-night river cruises into one 14-night vacation on itineraries such as the Jewels of the Rhine with the Sensations of Southern France sailings or the Sensations of Southern France with the Secrets of the Douro. Transportation between the two itineraries is included in the fare. Guests also have the option to add a pre- or post-trip extension to Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris and Nice. In addition, Emerald Waterways’ new complimentary Emerald Active program gives sporty guests the option to go on guided bike tours and hikes on six of Emerald Waterways’ most popular European itineraries. Examples include treks in Germany’s Black Forest, a guided bike tour of the Austrian town of Melk or a more urban biking experience around the Serbian capital of Belgrade.

Guests can take advantage of reduced airfares on all of Emerald Waterways cruises when booked by Sept. 2, 2016. Travelers who book cruises of 15 days or more can fly to Europe from $495, and receive a $225 pp onboard credit to be used on drink packages, Discover More optional tours, spa services or laundry. Passengers booking 7- to 14-day cruises can fly from $995 and receive a $112 pp onboard credit. Rates start at $2,245 pp for a 7-night cruise, and include all transfers, all onboard (and some onshore) meals, unlimited tea and coffee, wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner, continental breakfast, complimentary WiFi on board the ship, most shore excursions, and bicycles to use for independent touring. Emerald Waterways’ complete 2017 river cruise program is outlined in the company’s full-color, 88-page brochure, now available to order on its website.
