Tour Europe’s great landmarks on one of Abercrombie and Kent’s four new culture-driven European river cruises. The 2016 themed European River Cruise Journeys focus on food and wine, as well as architecture, art and history.

Abercrombie & Kent’s new 11-day Food & Wine of France: Paris, Burgundy & Provence itinerary is perfect for gourmands in pursuit of the best bites in France. The tour includes dinner inside Tour Montparnasse, a 689-ft.-tall office skyscraper; a sit down lunch beside the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct built in the first century AD; and a winery tour and private tasting in both Burgundy and Rhone; as well as a tasting tour and cooking class in Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, the largest indoor market in France. Rates start at $6,995 pp. On the 11-day Art & Architecture Along the Rhine itinerary, guests sail along the Rhine River aboard the new Amadeus Silver III traveling to Basel, Switzerland for an architectural tour of the Vitra Design Museum Campus, and Amsterdam for an architectural tour of the capital city, plus a walk through the Kroller-Muller Museum and sculpture garden. Rates start at $6,195 pp. The Christmas Markets on the Rhine and Christmas Along the Rhine itineraries explore Christmas time traditions in cities and villages along the Rhine River. Both itineraries start at $3,495 and include trips to Christmas markets in Germany and France.

In addition to the regular itinerary expeditions, guests have the opportunity to sightsee by private car in small groups of 24 or less on the Connections-Exclusive Excursions. New 2016 excursions include a tour of the Cistercian Abbey of Senanque, Saint Paul-de-Mausole and the Roman amphitheater in Arles, France on the Food & Wine of France: Paris, Burgundy & Provence itinerary, plus a guided visit to the city of Cologne, the Museum Ludwig in Germany, and the Mathildenhohe cultural center all in Darmstadt, Germany.
