Members of Costa Rica’s tourism community are hitting the road to host a series of educational seminars in major cities along the West Coast of the U.S.
Taking place July 23-27, 2018, these seminars hosted by Costa Rica’s Institute of Tourism (ICT) aim to answer the question, “What makes Coast Rica such a unique tourism destination?”
“On the world stage, it is important that Costa Rica brings innovative information first hand to these travel agents which, in turn, are the ones that will bring tourists from North America to the country,” said Silvia Vargas, president of Pro Imagen Costa Rica Group, the entity in charge of the country’s image as a tourist destination in potential markets, in press materials.
Agents attending one of these roadshow events can expect to see presentations from ICT on the main tourist attractions that Costa Rica has to offer its visitors, with a focus on topics such as adventure tourism, nature, sustainability, wellness, sun and beach, and meetings, among others. In addition, ICT will update agents on infrastructure developments and call attention to the country’s economic and political stability. Attendees will be able to have one-on-one meetings with leading members of the country’s tourism community and U.S. tour operators, plus be eligible to participate in a Costa Rica FAM in September.
The 2018 tour of the U.S. West Coast includes cities such as Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle and Portland, which were not included in promotional tours done in previous years. Event dates are as follows:
- San Diego: Monday, July 23th
- Los Angeles: Tuesday, July 24th
- Sacramento and San Jose: Wednesday, July 25th
- Portland: Thursday, July 26th
- Seattle: Friday, July 27th
