Cayo Espanto resort, located three miles off the coast of Belize, has completed the first phase of a property-wide renovation, introducing modern design upgrades and expanded amenities across its seven private villas.

Barefoot Luxury in Belize
As part of the refresh, each villa features updated fixtures, architectural touches and expanded indoor-outdoor living areas. Incorporating tropical wood elements and Tadelakt—a Moroccan plaster technique known for its smooth, water-resistant finish—the redesigned interiors will offer guests an elegant, airy aesthetic that aligns with Cayo Espanto’s style. In addition, light fixtures and a deep-blue palette with crisp white elements complete the refurbishments.
Several villas received notable upgrades. Casa Aurora now boasts an expanded dock, while Casa Brisa and Casa Manana feature glass-enclosed showers and enclosed gardens for enhanced privacy. Casa Solana’s roof extension offers increased shaded outdoor space, and Casa Ventanas, the resort’s only overwater villa, now includes sea-facing glass showers.
Additional upgrades across the island include a larger gym, enhanced private docks and the debut of a tranquil spa casita—adding new dimensions to the resort’s wellness offerings.
With just seven villas—each staffed with a personal butler, private dock and custom meals prepared by a Belizean-born chef—Cayo Espanto offers an ultra-private Caribbean escape tailored to each guest’s preferences, from cultural exploration to complete relaxation.
