Romance could quite possibly be the Caribbean’s middle name, and it was recently on full display during the inaugural “Say Yes to Saint Lucia” Global Romance Summit, held from Oct. 13-17, 2022.
Global Romance Summit Offers a Luxurious Saint Lucia Getaway for Prospective Clients
The summit, hosted by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (STA), was attended by 30 travel advisors and tour operators from top markets specializing in romance travel. They had the opportunity to experience first-hand some of the island’s most popular experiences that would be a hit with couples, such as the famous Mud Baths, the new “Kabawe Krawl” bar hop to taste test the best local libations, the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party, a very romantic catamaran ride and a try at making their own chocolate with locally sourced cacao. They also attended the Romance Showcase at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, which included a fashion runway show with new bridal collections.
“What Saint Lucia offers is an experience that really cements the bonds that togetherness brings. So many locations in Saint Lucia recognize the special moments of romance, weddings and honeymoons. Choosing Saint Lucia is simply saying yes to an authentic, world-class destination with unmatched experiences,” said Dr. Hilaire, minister of tourism, in a press statement.
Host hotels showcasing their romance offerings include East Winds, Sandals Resorts, St. James Club Morgan Bay and StolenTime by Rendezvous, as well as 25 Collection de Pépites properties that sponsored the summit.
“Saint Lucia has extraordinary natural gifts, accommodations, varied experiences, and the precise service excellence today’s romance travelers not only seek, but are willing to pay a premium for,” said Richard Moss, senior sales manager of the STA and lead on the Global Romance Summit, in a press statement. “The Global Romance Summit provided the ultimate showcase and immersive educational experience, which will undoubtedly pay future dividends within this essential market segment.”
