“I am deeply honored to accept the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority,” said Liburd in a press statement. “I thank the Minister of Tourism and the Board for their confidence in me. I would also like to sincerely thank Ms. Petra Roach for her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to Grenada’s tourism sector. She has laid a strong and meaningful foundation, and I am deeply grateful for the legacy she leaves and the example she has set. Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique are destinations of extraordinary beauty, culture, and potential. I look forward to working closely with our industry partners to further elevate our brand, strengthen our presence in key markets, and ensure that tourism continues to bring meaningful, sustainable benefits to our people.”

“Stacey Liburd brings a wealth of knowledge and a strategic mindset that is essential to the continued growth and evolution of Grenada’s tourism industry,” said Chairman of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Mr. Randall Dolland, in a press statement. “Her regional leadership experience and marketing expertise align perfectly with our goals of strengthening destination visibility, forging impactful partnerships, and enhancing the visitor experience.”

Grenada Welcomes an Experienced Tourism Professional

During her tenure as Director of Tourism at the Anguilla Tourist Board, Liburd achieved notable success in several key areas. She spearheaded marketing initiatives that earned industry recognition while successfully expanding international airlift connections—a crucial factor for advisors booking clients to Caribbean destinations.

Her professional background includes substantial experience in areas that directly impact the advisor community. Liburd has cultivated aviation partnerships that improved destination access and executed large-scale events at industry gatherings, including Virtuoso Travel Week, ILTM Cannes, and IMEX Americas.

For advisors selling luxury travel, Liburd’s experience in the private hospitality sector is particularly relevant. She has launched successful luxury property campaigns and built strategic relationships with global travel consortia, giving her insight into the needs of high-end travelers seeking authentic Caribbean experiences.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Liburd to Grenada,” said Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture, Hon. Adrian Thomas, in a press statement. “Her accomplishments within the tourism sector speak for themselves, and we believe her leadership will guide our industry into its next phase of innovation, sustainability and inclusive growth. We also extend heartfelt thanks to Ms. Petra Roach for her exceptional contribution during her tenure, which has elevated Grenada’s global profile, increased airlift and visitor numbers, and inspired confidence in our tourism future.”

The 133-square-mile nation of Grenada offers clients a diverse experience beyond its famous white-sand beaches. The destination is known for its spice production (earning its nickname as the “Spice Isle”), rainforest hiking trails and underwater attractions, including the world’s first underwater sculpture park.

Grenada maintains air service from major North American and European gateways, with direct flights from New York, Miami, Toronto, London and Frankfurt. The recent expansion of the Maurice Bishop International Airport has increased capacity for arriving visitors.

Liburd steps into the role as the former CEO, Petra Roach, transitions to a senior leadership position with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in the private sector.

Industry partners can expect to meet Liburd at upcoming trade events as she begins her official duties in mid-June.
