Delta Vacations is now offering hotel and flight packages to Havana, Varadero, and Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba for travel beginning Jan. 5, 2017. By booking a package with Delta Vacations, your clients will receive 1,000 bonus miles in addition to the credited flown miles for flight and hotel packages to Cuba through the SkyMiles program.
Delta Vacations provides a temporary medical insurance policy for travelers who book a package to Cuba; however, your clients will need to obtain their own Cuban tourist visa. Additionally, visitors to Cuba must self-report the type of trip they are taking to the U.S. government, as their travel must fall under one of the 12 authorized categories. Delta Vacations offers optional activities and tours that can help meet these people-to-people requirements for travel to Cuba; however, at the present time, Delta Vacations does not offer programs that fully qualify travelers under these requirements, and recommend becoming familiar with the travel restrictions before considering travel options.
