Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has temporarily closed one of its Dominican Republic properties, Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue, for renovations.

Located on Punta Cana’s Bavaro Beach, the oceanfront property will reopen in November 2018 as the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar. Upon completion of the renovation, the resort will feature 528 suites each with its own balcony, or, in the case of several first-floor accommodations, a patio with private pool. The property will also include a new coffee shop serving drinks and freshly baked goods, as well as three refurbished restaurants, including an Italian eatery, a gourmet dining venue, and a garden grill.

“Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar’s impressive redesign comes at an exciting time for our brand as we recently announced a portfolio rebranding and reclassified our properties into four categories and distinct experiences,” said Helen Montijano, v.p. of sales and marketing, U.S. and Canada, in press materials. “The renovated hotel will fall under our Luxury brand and our Escape experience signifying that it will provide high-end amenities, five-star service, and the entertainment and gastronomy offering will cater specifically to adults.”

Guests staying at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar will have access to amenities at the other properties within Bahia Principe’s Bavaro complex, including the spa, plus the sports bar and fitness center, which are also receiving upgrades. Other perks include on-request butler service.
