Butterfield & Robinson has announced its return to north India with the new 7-day India Walking itinerary running through February 2018. During the 1-week walking tour, guests visit the “Blue City” of Jodhpur for a walking tour of the old city area and an after-hours tour of the Mehrangarh Fort, in addition to having the opportunity to practice yoga with the rolling Aravalli Hills as a backdrop.
Additional highlights of the tour include a drive to Kumbhalgarh, where guests go on a hike to visit the Jain temple of Ranakpur, home to maze of 1,444 distinctly made marble pillars, and visit the village of Narlai and nearby foothills to see some of the oldest temples in the region, as well as hike up “elephant mountain” to view the white elephant statue that acts as a guardian over the desert.
The activity level for India Walking is “recreational,” meaning guests should be able to go on a good walk and handle an incline or two. Some days, guests may choose to skip the walk and participate in yoga, resort-provided spa treatments or other resort amenities. Rates start at $7,995 pp dbl ($1,500 sgl), and include accommodations, meals as indicated in the itinerary, B&R guides, all entrance fees and ground transportation.
