Girdwood’s Alyeska Resort, located 40 miles from Anchorage, is planning to ring in the new year January 2022 with Alaska’s first-ever Nordic spa.

The 300-guestroom property, offers year-round accommodations, world-class dining and impeccable mountain views and adventures, making the Nordica spa an ideal experience for travelers that want to spend some time relaxing while experiencing the benefits of hydrotherapy. The 50,000 sq. ft. spa will feature inside and outside components, including hot and cold pools surrounded by the boreal forest. Guests will also get to enjoy barrel saunas, steam rooms, exfoliation rooms, and social relaxation spaces. There will also be an on-site wellness bistro.

In the winter, guests at the resort can also enjoy 1,610 skiable acres with 76 named trails. As Alaska’s largest ski destination, both intermediate and advances skiers will enjoy the open bowls and vistas, as well a the longest double black diamond run in North America. For those who opt to visit in the summer, Alyeska Resort is your clients’ getaway to the Chugach Mountains. Here, they can view numerous wildlife and flora species. Other activities include yoga, a guided bike park tour as guests explore downhill mountain biking, and day trips to the Kenai Peninsula. Also in the summer, guests can enjoy the 7-minute scenic ride on the Aerial Tram, which climbs 2,300 ft to the top of Mt. Alyeska. From here, guests can see views of the Turnagain Arm, up to seven “hanging” glaciers, peaks of the Chugach Mountain, and moose and bear sightings are also common in the summer months. At the observation deck, guests can take in the panoramic views while enjoying lunch or an evening sunset. In the winter, the tram is used to get skiers to the top of the slopes.
