Six Senses Zighy Bay has unveiled a new sea-hotel adventure that explores the coastline and fjords of the Musandam in the Sultanate of Oman aboard a traditional, hand-crafted Omani dhow.
The recently refurbished Dhahab — meaning gold in Arabic — is a 90-ft vessel featuring three bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms and can accommodate up to six people. The experience includes a private chef who will prepare a menu based on locally sourced organic produce, incorporating a fresh catch of the day. Meals can also be customized to individual requests or dietary requirements. Inside the Dhahab, a relaxing private lounge offers a large selection of board games and movies on demand, while daybeds on the upper deck and the captain’s deck provide an ideal platform for stargazing.
“The Dhahab has its own journey — to craft memorable voyages and bespoke experiences. Guests who prefer above-water activities can tour the fjords in kayaks (both single and twin), snorkel, hand-line fish, or perfect their tubing skills,” says Andrew Spearman, general manager, Six Senses Zighy Bay, in a press release statement. “A selection of spa treatments by seasoned Six Senses Spa therapists, as well as fitness and morning yoga classes, can also be arranged on board the Dhahab. Guests can even delve into local culinary traditions with a cooking class.”

The voyage will explore the less-discovered waters of the Musandam, known as the Norway of the Middle East, including Haffa, Sanna’t, Lima, Charia, and Hamra, and will feature tailor-made dive experiences suitable for novices and experts alike.
The Dhahab experience, including all meals and soft beverages, is priced from $2,250 per person per night. Overnight Dhabab boat rental and crew without inclusions is priced from $1,166 per person per night.
Six Senses Zighy Bay has also recently launched the Stay and Cruise offer, starting at $7,250 per person. This includes four nights in the resort’s Pool Villa, daily breakfast at Spice Market, and one night on the Dhabab cruise. As part of the package, guests will enjoy a private chef on board, with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and soft drinks included, alongside non-motorized water sports at no extra charge, plus additional chargeable activities available on request, such as spa treatments and water skiing.
