PROMTUR Panama has released its new #StayAtHome campaign, Discovered by Nature, showing off the country’s rich history and culture, natural beauty, and remote locations travelers can discover once it’s safe to travel again. A destination that is known for its unique biodiversity, Panama’s new digital campaign highlights “this is our Natural Normal” by showcasing  the destination’s diverse landscapes, exotic animals, undiscovered beauty, and colorful culture.

“As we sit back at home, pondering the long-term impact of COVID-19, there is a new-found respect for nature that encourages us to listen, learn, and share,” said Fernando Duque, president of the Board of Directors, in a press release statement. “The Discovered by Nature campaign is designed to remind travelers that Panama has been here for thousands of years, and we will be here when this pandemic is over. We look forward to sharing our beautiful country with visitors again when travel restrictions are lifted.”

The country is made up of a narrow strip of land that emerged from the sea more than 15 million years ago, which divided an ocean, joined two continents together, and triggered one of the most important natural evolution events in history. According to NASA, “scientists believe the formation of the Isthmus of Panama is one of the most important geologic events to happen on Earth in the last 60 million years.”

Although Panama’s #NaturalNormal may only be experienced to its fullest when visiting the “S”-shaped isthmus, travelers can visit virtually via @visitpanama on Instagram, with new content posted every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2 p.m. EST. The 3-month campaign kicks off with weekly content focused on culture and diversity that celebrates Panama’s African Heritage Month and International Museum Day. Every Saturday in May, acclaimed local chefs, will host cooking demonstrations featuring easy to make Panamanian cuisine. Content in June will focus on Panama’s natural flora and fauna.
