Tourism Fiji has sent the message “Sota Tale. Stay safe and we will see you soon,” on its social media channels.

“Sota Tale” is a common Fijian phrase meaning “See you again,” which guests often hear upon their departure from Fiji in anticipation that they will be welcomed back to the islands soon.

The optimistic message is to let everyone know that Fiji is thinking of them and the islands will be ready to welcome guests back once the world is ready to travel again. Tourism Fiji is reaching out to the industry to all unite under this banner to deliver the collective message of optimism and confidence to the rest of the world.

“It’s part of Tourism Fiji’s four stages to market re-entry that the organization is implementing to return the destination to the North America market,” says Tourism Fiji CEO Matthew Stoeckel. “Stage one is all about inspiring travelers to dream of a trip to Fiji and Tourism Fiji has several exciting initiatives planned to bring this to life.”

Tourism Fiji continues to share the ‘Bula Spirit’ virtually during this time through the lens of “Sota Tale.” A Bulanaire is someone rich in happiness, and Tourism Fiji has shared some tips from a few of the islands’ Bulanaires for navigating these unprecedented times.

“Simply, be kind to one another.” – Mosese Baleninasolo, Bulanaire from Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

“Give them your smile if they don’t have a smile.” – Komal Singh, Bulanaire from Six Senses Resort Fiji

“Don’t worry about what tomorrow brings, enjoy today as best as you can.” – Salaseini Baleilakeba, Bulaniare from Barefoot Kuata Resort
