Backroads will be back up and running in the third week of June with a few small trips, anticipating a more robust offering for July and August.

For the June departures, the operator is intentionally running small trips with guests who have been carefully vetted for their interest in getting back to travel. The June trips are all domestic and focus on some of the country’s mesmerizing national park landscapes.

The 6-day Yellowstone & Grand Tetons Multi-Adventure Tour, with dates set for June 21-26 and July 26-31, includes such highlights as paddling through the twisting rapids of the Snake River with a professional white-water guide; pedaling a spectacular route beneath the jagged peaks of the Teton Range, one of the most beautiful car-free paths in the west; and hiking the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, a geologic wonderland and home of the park’s biggest waterfall.

The 5-day North Carolina’s Blue Ridge & Tennessee’s Smokies Walking & Hiking Tour, with dates set for June 22-26, will have guests exploring the breathtakingly beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with waterfalls, oak and pine trees, and endless vistas; following wooded trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, home to elk, black bears and over 200 bird species; kicking up their feet and relaxing on porch swings at charming cabins tucked into forest settings and sitting down to Southern cooking; and hiking through high-country alpine forest, along pristine streams and rivers, and amid natural beauty along the Appalachian Trail.

The 6-day Bryce & Zion Bike Tour, with dates set for June 28-July 3 and July 12-17, will have your clients ascending through subalpine life zones to catch views of the Claron Formation, found in Cedar Breaks and Bryce Canyon National Parks; spinning past intriguing Checkerboard Mesa, sculpted and etched by eons of weathering and erosion, as they enter the famous Zion Canyon; pedaling along the canyon floor of Zion National Park, where red rock walls tower on all sides; and hiking in Bryce Canyon amid the otherworldly hoodoos and spires of Queen’s Garden and Inspiration Point.

The 6-day Utah & Arizona’s National Parks Family Multi-Adventure Tour, with dates set for June 30-July 5, and July 14-19, 21-26, 28-8/2, takes in astonishing rock formations, river-carved canyons and sandstone cliffs in some the country’s best-known parks; and has particpants pedaling among crimson rocks, desert wildflowers and scampering wildlife to Red Canyon; and hiking through an impressive slot canyon in Bryce, whose narrow walls are a feat of nature.
