Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced its new Giraffe Bar set to open at Serengeti Overlook under limited capacity.

The new bar offers panoramic views of the park’s expansive Serengeti Plain, where guests can watch giraffes, zebra, antelope, ostrich and more, while enjoying a new menu of craft cocktails and shareable appetizers.

The spacious indoor/outdoor venue will soft open on March 19 and officially open on March 26. It offers physically distant interior tables and shaded outdoor patio seating, as well as a unique selection of chef- and mixologist-curated cocktails and bites.

Speciality frozen cocktails on the menu include “The Hungry Tusker” made with Amarula African cream liqueur (made from the fruit of the South African marula tree), Hula Hawaiian dark rum, and coconut and pineapple flavors.

Sparkling cocktails include the “Thorn and Berry,” inspired by the bar’s namesake giraffes that strip thorns off of branches to eat leaves, and the “Masai Margarita,” named after the Masai, the largest species of giraffe native to East Africa.

Flights of local craft beer such as the “Toucan” and “Safari Graze” will be served presented on a hand-carved giraffe tasting paddle.

Shareable bites include bourbon-glazed sticky wings, braised brisket mac and cheese, and smoked brisket-loaded French fries.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Pass Members will receive a free collectible Giraffe Bar color changing pilsner with the purchase of a frozen cocktail or draft beer any Monday through Thursday by April 29 (while supplies last).

The park has worked with state and local health experts, outside consultants and attraction industry leaders to enhance its health and cleanliness standards. The hygiene and safety protocols will be modified based on evolving industry standards and methodologies, as well as advancing scientific knowledge on the transmissibility of COVID-19.
